An Hour in the Life... {{Maegan}}

How gorgeous has it been this past week? Everywhere you look there are trees blossoming, flowers blooming - it's a wonderful thing! As we lead into the second half of April (I know, I can't believe it either) I start to reflect on spring, rebirth, and motherhood. I started my 'Mommy and Me" sessions earlier this month, My first was so nice; it was for a grandmother and her grandchildren - it's a nice reminder of the roads it took to get to where we are. Driving back home from my session, I got thinking about our daily life with our kids, the struggles, sometimes hardships, but the joy and laughter too. I wanted to dive more into what it's like 'a day in the life' of real moms; working moms, stay-at-home moms, work-from-home moms. It's a challenge no matter the job title you have.

Last week I had the pleasure of spending some time with Maegan and her two littles, Parker and Vivian. Maegan works from home 3-4 days a week and goes into the office every Thursday to catch up on meetings, phone calls, and any weekly tasks that need to get done. Maegan happened to be working from home the morning I came by, and I was greeted by the most adorable little boy, with Maegan carrying sweet Vivi AKA "Fifi".
I came in and settled a bit with Parker, he showed me his magna-tiles while Maegan nursed Vivi. Parker sat right next to mommy to make sure all is well with his ladies. Maegan and I have known each other for...goodness, probably 18 years?! Maybe longer, maybe shorter, I don't know mommy brain tends to kick in when it comes to specific numbers (haha!). We got talking about life with 2 little ones under the age of 2. Parker will officially be 2 in May while Vivi was born in January. We swapped birthing stories, talked about the dailies with our kids, life with little boys, and life with little girls - it was so so nice to catch up.

Parker, like every other little boy, is always. on, the. GO. Always something new to see and do! The second Maegan would sit and check emails, you best believe he was right there to take her hand and pull her into Parkers world.

 If there is some perspective I can give on work-from-home parents is that their time and attention is CONSTANTLY being pulled left and right. You are trying to balance family time and work time efficiently....the entire day. We always somehow figure out our own routine that works best for us. Maegan's routine is emails in the morning while Parker plays; it gives her a chance to spend time with him, feed Vivi, and check her computer to make sure she is up to date. Once Parker is down for a nap, she can hop on conference calls without disturbing those beautiful babes.

Working from home with two little ones is, as Maegan puts it "beautiful chaos". But really, isn't that life in general with kids? There are days where all you want to do is cry because the little things build up and get so tough to handle, and then there are days where every little new thing your child learns amazes you. It's a beautiful thing! I absolutely loved getting a little inside look into someone else's life for an hour.
Mom's really are super heroes - Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about Maegan and her life with her two littles! I enjoyed myself so much that I'll be posting weekly blogs on other 'hour in the life' installments until Mothers day. Cheers to us moms!

It is really hard to see moms like you which are devoted in their life and giving time to everything in their life. It sure is a great responsibility that you have been having on your mind.
